Meet Mel!
Since 2006, Mel has built a dynamic career as a professional photographer and filmographer, crafting compelling visual narratives that bridge music, storytelling, and tourism. Her extensive portfolio includes collaborations with renowned musicians and iconic festivals such as Caloundra Music Festival, Bluesfest, Woodford Folk Festival, and Springloaded. She has also partnered with local councils and governing industry bodies to produce impactful visual content that captures the essence of her subjects.
Regularly touring nationally and internationally, Mel has worked with artists KALEO (Iceland) and Prince's band, New Power Generation, Diesel, Nathan Cavaleri, Client Liaison, Sneaky Sound System, Ash Grunwald, Sampa the Great, Arrested Development, The Superjesus, Frenzal Rhomb, and Baker Boy to name but a mere few. Her ability to combine creative vision with technical expertise makes her work resonate deeply with diverse audiences.
A cornerstone of Mel’s career is her role as Media Supervisor & Coordinator for Caloundra Music Festival, a position she has proudly held for seven years. In this capacity, she has overseen the creation and management of high-quality media that captures the energy and vibrancy of this celebrated event. Mel also supervised a team of up to 15 photographers and videographers, crafting detailed briefs and ensuring the delivery of daily and live content that showcased the festival's dynamic atmosphere in real time.
Mel's tour documentary captures the adventurous spirit of the road, blending the energy of live performances with the heart of the communities visited, while showcasing cultural beauty, scenic landscapes, and the raw realities of life on tour. Her recent tours have encompassed numerous gigs across Australia, New Zealand and Pacific Islands including rural and Indigenous communities. These projects often incorporate workshops that address mental health through creative expression, further amplifying her impact.
In addition to photography and film, Mel has excelled in digital marketing, social media management, and tour coordination. These roles solidifying her place amongst Nathan Cavaleri’s management team as she manages tour marketing, community building and logistics across vast geographies, ensuring seamless experiences for artists and audiences alike. She also has a knack for bringing people together and fostering community engagement at events, creating meaningful connections through her work.
Mel’s professional foundation includes roles in sales and marketing, paralegal services, and executive support for CEOs and corporate boards. These experiences have honed her organisational and strategic planning abilities, which she applies to every project she undertakes.
